Mentors
Our team has a very close bond with its mentors, who daily show their dedication to our success. The mentors assist very closely with the building process. The team members and mentors have gotten to know each other personally and the mentors have become not only teachers, but also friends. The mentors treat the team with respect and a friendly attitude. In addition, the mentors have become role models for the team members. The team sees the mentors as people they aspire to be in the future. Every robotics team has at least one mentor, but we are fortunate enough to have many. Every year these individuals take time out of their own busy lives and provide practical insight and knowledge in the realms of physics, engineering, electronics, and leadership. They sacrifice their time to teach and guide us through the process of robot building.
We will be receiving engineering support, for the third year in a row, from the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, mentors from Graftek Imaging will be joining the team. Our newest additions have 3 years of FIRST experience and have several Labview certified developers who work with LabVIEW on a daily basis for image processing.
